You know what’s so funny about Christopher Lloyd? In Back to the future, when he was in 1955, he was depicted as an adult, and the rest of the cast were supposed to be 17 year old people. The funny thing here? He was 17 in 1955 because Lloyd was born in 1938. HA!

You’re right – that depressingly serious current was called life.
At the end of the day these cabbies were struggling. Jim was hilarious, but there were also a couple episodes that made you realize how sad his condition was underneath it all, too.
The show could literally make you cry sometimes, or at least get choked up…. and yet it NEVER went overboard. It never went into total melodrama. Then in the exact same scene 30 seconds later, they’d have you in hysterics again.
