Pick up the “A” train at Howard Beach / JFK Airport. Take it all the way to 34th St Penn Station get off at this stop. You have two choices to Philly. Take NJ Transit to Trenton NJ, from Trenton take SEPTA R7 train to Philly 30th Street Station, or Amtrak to 30th Street Station. Take the SEPTA R1 Train to Philly Intl Airport.

Take the BoltBus from 34th & 8th Street to Philly. Bus fare is as low as US$1.00 to US15.00

To get to 34th & 8th Street for the BoltBus, you will need to get the Airtrain JFK and LIRR to Penn Station.

JFK to Penn Station, New York

Its very possible, and you actually have a couple of different options.

First thing for all options, take the Airtrain to Jamaica.

At Jamaica either take the LIRR (the more expensive, quicker route) or the E train (cheaper longer route) to Penn Station. The LIRR takes about 35 min to Penn while the E train is about an hour give or take a couple of minutes for both.

Now you have two options from Penn Station. You can take Amtrak (quicker more expensive) straight into Philadelphia. Or you can take New Jersey Transit to Trenton, and at Trenton transfer to the Septa (theres only one route there) that will take you to Philly; this is the cheaper, longer route(note the last train out from Penn Station is at 1:42 or some time like that, the schedule recently changed).

A third option, is take the E train to the Port Authority (one stop before Penn Station). Greyhound has a $15 direct bus to Philadelphia.

There are actually numerous buses from NYC that leave either from the Port Authority or from Chinatown. I’ve linked you to a couple of different buses that serve the two cities.

FYI: If your leaving from Chinatown, take the Airtrain to Howard Beach and take the A train, it will take you to Chinatown and Lower Manhattan quicker than the E.
